About Zalina
"Playing piano started as a simple necessity for my musical theater work. I honestly struggle with rigid teaching methods that ignore how a student thinks. My BFA degree provides the theory while my experience helps me translate it for intermediate learners. I spend time working with working professionals who need a creative outlet after hours.
Grade exam candidates from ABRSM or Trinity often come to me for technical refinement. I enjoy helping returning learners rediscover their technique. Hand position and posture are central to my pedagogy. It just happens naturally."

"Structured flexibility is the backbone of my technical approach. Being a musician means thinking about the music while you play, so we prioritize rhythm. Diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan is my standard process. This helps me customize the path for jazz improvisation or classical repertoire.
Sight transposition is a skill we can refine together. 12 years of experience informs how I guide your progress."
