About Rui Qi
I am a Chemical Engineering student at Monash University Malaysia with experience as a part-time Chinese debating coach for international students, focusing on public speaking, communication, and critical thinking. My teaching style is interactive and engaging, combining academic learning with practical activities and discussions to help students build confidence and improve naturally. I mainly teach primary and secondary school students, especially IGCSE learners, and tailor lessons according to each student’s level and learning goals.

My teaching approach focuses on making Chinese lessons engaging, interactive, and practical rather than purely memorisation-based. I combine structured academic learning with fun class activities, discussions, and speaking exercises to help students build confidence and develop stronger communication skills naturally. Lessons are typically 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the student’s level and learning pace.
I previously worked as a part-time Chinese debating coach, where I trained international students in public speaking, communication, and critical thinking.
My lessons are mainly suitable for primary and secondary school students, including both local and international school students, with a particular focus on IGCSE Chinese learners.
