About Dorothy
Meet Your Scholar’s Newest Advocate
I’m an experienced educator with a Master’s degree in Education and Training and 25 years of experience serving scholars across school districts, charter schools, and community colleges. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that successful education is about much more than academics—it’s about relationships, trust, confidence, and believing in a scholar’s ability to succeed.
I pride myself on building genuine relationships with both scholars and their parents. I partner with parents because you know your child best, and I bring the educational experience and strategies to help move your scholar forward.
Scholars respond to me because I take the time to truly know them. I establish strong rapport, earn their trust, and create an environment where they feel seen, supported, and capable. I have a gift for inspiring scholars to take ownership of their goals and stay committed, even when learning feels difficult.
Most importantly, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every scholar is different, so I individualize the learning plan to meet their specific strengths, needs, learning style, and goals.
My commitment is simple: partner with the parent, connect with the scholar, and create a pathway for meaningful growth and lasting success.

What I Offer
You’re doing your best to keep up with work, family, and everything your scholar needs—and sometimes, school support becomes one more thing on your plate. I’m here to help.
With 25 years of experience in education, I provide personalized ELAR tutoring, homework assistance, and academic support designed around your scholar’s individual needs. I can begin with an academic assessment to identify learning gaps, strengths, and areas that need attention, so we’re not guessing about where to begin.
I also have extensive experience working with scholars with learning disabilities and can provide instruction and support aligned with their IEP or 504 Plan. My goal is to help your scholar build skills, confidence, independence, and a stronger sense of “I can do this.”
For parents navigating the special education process, I also offer individual consultation for ARD meetings, helping you feel more prepared, informed, and confident when advocating for your scholar.
