About Wilma
Graduating from the American University of Sharjah with a Bachelor of Science in Education provided the foundation for my coaching career. Truthfully, I started this path because I enjoy the rigor of competitive logic. I have coached chess for 13 years, guiding players from their first tournaments to rated matches.
My instruction emphasizes tactical patterns, king safety, and pawn structures. I help students develop time management, calculation, visualization, and tournament preparation. Developing pattern recognition and a competitive mindset remains central to how I teach blunder checking and opening principles.
