I am currently a fifth grade elementary school teacher who spends time after school tutoring! I am in my 20s, which makes me very relatable to students in elementary school. I am always adapting and learning from the students I work with to better suit their needs.
For example, one of the kids I currently tutor loves to play chess! Since I learned this, we started playing "math chess" in which we both need to correctly solve a math problem before moving a chess piece.
That's just one of the ways I can get creative during a tutoring session!
Depending upon what you tell me about the student, I typically like to do a 45 minute or 1 hour session. Usually, I suggest doing once or twice a week to aid with building the targeted skill(s).
