About Rebecca
I am a qualified teacher, zoologist and game ranger with a variety of additional passions. I have worked with two different schools and with individual children of a variety of ages and educational/learning needs. I have taught everything from phonics and times tables, all the way to university Zoology subjects such as biochemistry. My main passion is Biology and so this is the subject that I teach full time.
A bit of other info: I grew up in South Africa, very close to some of the word's best wildlife, including the big and small five. I have done my advanced scuba diving qualifications and am passionate about exploring where ever I can, in Oceans and on land.

I am passionate, young, and eager to find the best ways for individuals to learn, ensuring that it is engaging and fun. I believe that no two learners are the same, so I design lessons that spark curiosity, encourage participation, and build confidence while meeting individual educational goals. I currently teach in a non-selective school, and most of my classes are mixed ability pupils. My SEN training and experience enables me to differentiate lessons so I can get the best our of each pupil. I also teach a few more streamed/academically able groups, with many of my pupils receiving A/A* for the Biology in scholarship exams to some of the top secondary schools in the UK. Exam technique and approach is something that I include as a part of all of my lessons. I find that this provides more confidence in overall ability in my subject, especially when sitting assessments. My experience, BSc (Hons) in Zoology (including many Science and Maths modules), coupled with my PGCE (with a first) in Secondary level Biology, give me the knowledge and understanding to teach all ages from primary Science & maths, up to A-level Biology and Chemistry.
My aim is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students feel inspired to reach their full potential.

Rebecca is super-organized and very logical. She is patient when explaining a theory and will not give up until your child has grasped the concept. She is a qualified teacher and shows such compassion and understanding if a child is struggling as mine did.
Rebecca is a fantastic maths tutor! She’s fun, bubbly, and makes every lesson enjoyable and engaging. Her patient teaching style meant my daughter never felt rushed, and she always took the time to explain concepts clearly until she fully understood them. She really helped build her confidence in maths, and my daughter always looked forward to her sessions. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive and effective tutor!
I cannot recommend Rebecca enough. She has taught my children for the last five years. Not only have their understanding and grades in Biology skyrocketed but it has become one of their favourite subjects and their increased confidence in the sciences is notable!
I can’t recommend Rebecca highly enough. She makes maths fun, approachable, and exciting, turning even the trickiest topics into something everyone can understand. My daughter felt supported, encouraged, and inspired to do her best. Rebecca’s enthusiasm, patience, and kindness makes her truly special and a joy to learn from.
