About Kristian
My extensive experience in social care and social work has enabled me to develop valuable personal qualities like empathy, honesty, self-reflection, and patience. By reflecting on my practice, I hold an Advanced European/International Computing Driving Licence, which enables me to identify, select, and apply appropriate cognitive and practical skills, methods, and procedures to address problems that, although well-defined, may be complex and non-routine. Review how effective methods and actions have been to use the appropriate investigation to inform actions. I possess the expertise to enhance organisational productivity through Microsoft applications, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. I am qualified as a level 6 Team manager and Supervisor through my Youth and Community Work Degree. I have completed my MSc in Social work (level 7) and am registered with Social Care Wales. I have extensive experience working with asylum seekers/refugees with the Ethnic Youth Support Team in Swansea and assessing families in times of crisis with the Child Care Assessment Team in the Pembrokeshire Local Authority: Portfolio available upon request. I have experience taking up this role as a Club President in Cardiff Toastmasters, where I led the team to attain ten out of ten goals to achieve Smedley Distinguished accreditation. I progressed to become the South Wales Toastmasters Area Director, supporting the club's growth and development through communication and leadership with the Pathways education programme. I have organised the Area 10 and Division J Conference for District 91. By the end of my term as Area Director, I had supported the clubs in achieving Distinguished status. (Smedley Distinguished, Presidents Distinguished, Select Distinguished). I am a qualified social worker, having completed my MSc at Swansea University and achieved a 2:1 in the qualification. I am registered with Social Care Wales and Social Work England. I have a passion for social justice, and I have written about the topic on ResearchGate, where I explain the concept and how I have applied it in my practice. My passion for tutoring stemmed from my cancer treatment experience as a teenager (full details are available on request). The person-centred care I received during my illness from various individuals, including medical staff, carers, youth workers, and social workers, has inspired me to pursue a rewarding career in supporting children, young people, adults, and families. None of this has prevented me from completing tasks in other areas of my life. Far from being disadvantaged, this has increased my awareness of the needs and respect of others with diversity.
