About Yash
About Me
Hi! I'm Yash, a junior at Canyon High School with a strong background in Math and Chemistry. I've always been the person friends and classmates come to when they're stuck on homework or need something explained a different way — I think that's because I remember what it's like to feel confused about a topic, so I try to break things down the way I wish someone had done for me.
Outside of academics, I'm involved in Basketball, Track and Field and volunteer work, which has taught me a lot about patience, discipline, and sticking with something even when it's hard — all things that come in handy when tutoring, too. I'm currently taking AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and Honors Physics, so this material is fresh for me, not something I learned years ago and forgot.
I got into tutoring because I like the moment when something finally clicks for someone — that "oh, THAT'S what it means" moment is honestly one of my favorite things. I'm patient, easy to talk to, and I won't make you feel dumb for asking a question twice.
When I'm not studying, you'll probably find me hanging with friends, watching movies, playing basketball, or going to the gym — happy to chat about that too if it helps break the ice before we get to work!

I focus on making Math and Chemistry feel manageable instead of overwhelming. A lot of students come to me feeling behind or confused about where to even start — my goal in our first session is to figure out exactly where the gaps are, then build a plan around that instead of just redoing what didn't work in class.
My lessons usually start with a quick check on what you're currently working on and where you're getting stuck. From there, I like to work through problems together step-by-step, explaining the "why" behind each step, not just the process — that's what actually makes things stick. I keep a relaxed pace and I'm big on making sure you're comfortable asking questions, even ones that feel basic.
I tailor sessions depending on the goal:
If it's homework help, we'll work through your actual assignments and I'll show you how to check your own work.
If it's test prep, we'll do timed practice problems and review mistakes until the concept clicks.
If it's building long-term understanding, we'll slow down and make sure the fundamentals are solid before moving forward.
I know how frustrating it can be to feel stuck on something everyone else seems to get — I want every session to leave you feeling more confident than when we started, not just with an answer, but with a way to get there yourself next time.
