About Vasavi
I am a post-A-level student who previously struggled with English, leading to me feeling discouraged and disinterested in what I was reading. However, I slowly learned and improved myself, achieving high grades in both English literature and Language, as well as gaining a newfound appreciation for literature and increased articulacy. I want to pass on the skills and lessons I have learned to help others do the same. This includes not only concrete abilities like expansion of vocabulary, but an improved attitude towards learning. I received 9 9s an 2 8s at GCSE, and am predicted 4 A*s at A-level.

I teach 11+, KS3 and KS4 English. I have experience teaching children of all abilities and ages. Lessons are typically an hour but I am flexible with times. At a lower level, my lessons will include engaging with new types of literature and developing vocabulary to improve articulacy. At KS4, my lessons will delve into essay-writing techniques and thinking thematically and critically about the texts they are reading. I ask students about their own experiences and opinions to relate to the literature, and frequently implement game-based learning. My lessons are often discussion-based, and I also ask students to produce material of their own. Ultimately my lessons are adapted to the student I am working with so these techniques vary on that basis. I am also available for History and Geography KS3-KS4 teaching.
