About Karen
I am currently a Masters student in Socio-Cultural Anthropology at Columbia University. I am looking to help students (high school age or younger) with their reading comprehension and writing skills. I can help with essay writing and editing in both English literature and history.
I recieved my B.A. from Wesleyan University in 2014, where I majored in Socio-Cultural Anthropology and minored in Cultural & Critical Theory. I am currently in the process of finishing up my Masters degree in Cultural Anthropology at Columbia University.

I Would start off by sense of the students general goals, their strengths and weaknesses, areas of interest and so forth. It is also important to figure out what kind of learner the student is-visual, auditory, combination etc. and to tailor lesson plans to their particular capabilties. The work should be collaborative; I am open to feedback and suggestions from students about how they would like to approach a certain problem or topic. It's also important to get a sense of a students general knowledge base and their current in -school course work so that the lesson plans can be tailored specifically to their scholastic needs.
