About Kirin
I want to teach more and more students to promote good technique and great musicality. I feel strongly about the connection between the body and instrument and how to play in a safe, non harmful way. I myself experienced an injury so want to promote good technique so no other string player has to!

About the lesson

With 7+ years of teaching experience, I will work alongside you to make the most of your musical journey. I, myself, am still studying so know the hardships of learning an instrument but together we can create a plan to focus on technique, musicality and musicianship. I can teach classical, modern, pop and anything else under the sun!
I teach mostly pre-grade students and up to grade 8! Get in touch to discuss further, I’d love to hear from you!
My experience as a player includes:
- Grade 8 Distinction Viola
- Grade 8 Distinction Violin
- Grade 7 Distinction Recorder
- Principal Viola for many orchestras (Sheffield Philharmonic, RNCM Opera Orchestra, City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra)
-Worked side-by-side with the Royal Northern Sinfonia
-Worked side-by-side with Anna Meredith and band
- Co-Founder and Violist of chamber ensemble - Osian Ensemble
-Played concertos with Sheffield Youth Orchestra, Rotherham Youth Orchestra and soon with Sheffield Chamber Orchestra.
Solo and masterclass experience:
- Studying with Lucy Nolan and Martin Schaefer at the RNCM.
- Masterclass with Lucy Nolan, Sindy Mohammed and Robin Ireland.
-Chamber classes with Donald Grant, Leonard Elschenbroich and Levon Chilingirian.
My experience as a teacher includes:
-Tutor for RNCM Engage - working with young students.
-Peri tutor for 3 students so far.
-Tutor for Rotherham Young Strings for 2 years.
I love teaching and can’t wait teach more students and share the love for music.
