I have been an Acting Coach at The Los Angeles Acting Studio in San Diego for 3 years and a student at the same studio for 10 years. My approach to the work is rooted in the Meisner method of acting but has been modified and updated into what our studio calls the Hybrid-Meisner technique. We therefore work with intention and listening in the moment and working off of the other actor like your life depends on it. Where behavior drives the storytelling versus controlling your instrument to "appear" to be living in the emotional state the script calls for. Working inward to outward rather than thin and surface-y. If you have a script you need analyzed, feedback on a monologue you're working on, or help finding a character's inner life for an audition, I've got you covered!

I’ve had many coaches since I started my acting career, but Alex was my first serious teacher. I studied with him for nearly 2 years and I cannot imagine being the actor I am today without his mentorship. I think it is incredibly valuable to have an acting teacher that is also a practitioner of the craft. He is as excited about his student’s growth as he is about his own growth. Alex possesses a tenacity, compassion, and enthusiasm that always made me excited to come to class and try new things. Alex was swift to call me out when I wasn’t giving my all and just as swift to congratulate me when I had reached new heights. My time with Alex was incredibly impactful and directly contributes to the success I’m now seeing as an actor.
