About Spencer
As a Saxophone tutor with 15+ years of experience, I have successfully taught nearly 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. I am committed to helping students achieve consistent improvement while enjoying the learning process.
My tutoring method is flexible and goal-oriented. I design lessons based on each student’s abilities and musical interests, ensuring steady progress without pressure. I believe motivation and positive feedback are key to success.
I place strong emphasis on saxophone basics such as breathing techniques, embouchure control, tone production, finger accuracy, and rhythm. Advanced students receive guidance in musical phrasing, improvisation, and performance techniques.
Alongside saxophone instruction, I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills. My aim is to help students build confidence, discipline, and a lasting love for music.

My approach to teaching saxophone combines technical discipline with musical enjoyment. Each class includes warm-ups, scale patterns, articulation drills, and song practice to build both accuracy and fluency. I motivate students by creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where they feel confident to make mistakes and improve.
Communication is simple, patient, and interactive so students clearly understand concepts like breath support and tonguing techniques. With integrity, I monitor their progress honestly and guide them step by step toward higher levels.
Creativity is introduced through style exploration, improvisation, and expressive interpretation of songs. Besides saxophone, I support students with ear training and basic harmony lessons.
