About Eli
As a kid I wasn't into my studies, but I was into sports. As I got to college, I found my love for math and science. While tutoring, I hope to show the students the perspective I hold, and instill a self-motivated work ethic that lasts forever. In my time in college, while completing my degree I have also done research in microbiology and immunology, before switching to a lab where I currently do research in theoretical chemistry. I have also completed several technical projects ranging from mathematical physics to numerical analysis to website building.

My lessons emphasize two things, understanding and active learning. Understanding is emphasized as opposed to memorization. I am a believer in that no formula should be memorized before understanding its origin. A typical lesson plan would be to see where the student's understanding is, give an interactive lecture on what they don't fully understand, making sure the student is engaged and understanding while moving forward. Then giving example problems and letting the student try to work them out on their own, and giving them helpful prodding as needed.
