About Samuel
I am Sam Unger, a recent Applied Mathematics graduate from Columbia University, and I would love to help you learn more math! In my years of experience as a Resident Advisor and Teaching Assistant at Columbia University I have thoroughly proven my interpersonal and communication skills with coworkers and audiences of all backgrounds. In these roles, trust, self-reflection, and discretion were key to my success, as I provided front-line emotional and academic support to students in stressful and sensitive situations.
I myself am a first-generation college student, so I feel a devout passion for helping those in need achieve the education they deserve. As an Applied Mathematics graduate, I have a ton of experience learning and discussing a variety of complex math concepts, from calculus to number theory to linear algebra, plus a ton more! On top of that, I was a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Calculus II for 3 semesters at Columbia University, where I really focused on adapting my teaching to the learning style of the student I was working with at the given moment. Do you need practical application problems to wrap your head around an idea? I got you. Prefer getting the "big idea" and understanding general concepts before working out the nitty-gritty calculations? I've got your back. However you learn best, I teach.
