About Kishore

Hello Students !!! I am Kishore, residing in Melbourne. I have been working on many Java-based applications in my overall 17 years of career. I have developed and deployed Java applications for many banking institutions some of which include Citibank, Bank of America, Standard Chartered Bank, Credit Suisse Bank. I have ventured into the consumer space after migrating to Australia in 2018 having worked on Yellow Pages product and currently working in Service Victoria. My passion towards teaching starts from a very early age where I used to teach my younger sister and continued the passion along throughout my career where I was observed as the most approachable person on the floor. I find it absolutely fulfilling when I am able to instill confidence in others and being a part in achieving their goals.

My teaching methodology is to make the student confident about learning the skill they are trying to learn. Having 17+ years of experience in the Java-based development space gives me the confidence to teach a wide variety of real-world situations and scenarios to make the student familiar with. I have been teaching at my workspaces to fellow colleagues throughout my career and I have an excellent reputation for being one of the most approachable persons across the floor. I am keen to teach Java development, ReactJS development, deploying applications on AWS platform for absolute beginners and those having experience but haven't worked since some time. The typical length of a lesson will last from 45 minutes to 1 hour. My teaching methodology would be as follows - 1) First 10 minutes - Refresh the previous lesson to set the context for the next 30 minutes 2) Next 30 minutes - Goal-oriented teaching, to follow a syllabus to track the overall progress. 3) Last 5 - 10 minutes -Talk about homework that will be assigned to the student

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I briefly remember using my first experience around 1995 where I was using Windows 95. It was such excitement as there were no alternative options at that time. We had a floppy disk and the memory was 13mb as per my memory.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I think everyone agrees that technological evolution has changed the way we all operate and have been operating in the past decade or so. The whole world despite having travel banned during COVID was able to function seamlessly only due to technological advancement.

Coming to the turning point, I believe we are in the early stages of seeing AI in action. I strongly believe AI is a game changer and it will create countless jobs in the near future. I am so very excited that I am part of this, albeit I have to warn everyone to be extremely careful about the potential harms related to cyber crimes that are rising in alarming space.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise has always been doing quality software development using a range of technologies. I love to explore new technologies, always keen to adapt and learn new ways of doing things. My key interests were C, C++, Java and now I am more working on Cloud solutions, Java script, python among others.

Python has been a gamechanger and is a very vital component in AI.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

Yes they do definitely inspire me, but I am a person who likes to learn more from persons around me in a day to day interaction basis. My major role model in my life has been my father and grandfather. My grandfather has achieved the President of India award for his excellency in Vedas. My father joined Bank of India as a junior clerk and resigned as the Deputy General Manager of the bank. I have learnt a lot of things from them which I aim to implement on a day to day basis in my life.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would say it's the first day at the office for everyone, just the day is different for all of us. We all have been learning all along, trying to do different things and have been at the decision point where all felt things are way too complex or difficult and failed to even give a try.

The best gift you can give yourselves is to try and understand what it is and have a relatively low expectation as learning will take quite some time. As long as you persist with the learning curve, nothing is complicated and very soon you will be extremely proud of yourself.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I have a huge passion for the fitness industry. I love to swim and do my workout and try to be fit. As they say healthy mind, healthy body.

I strongly advocate everyone to keep fitness as the first priority in life despite the circumstances as the benefits of being fit are far greater than what we could imagine.
