About Kristyn
I have worked as an EMT for multiple agencies, both in large cities with access to plenty of resources, but also in very rural communities where I was frequently the only provider and the closest hospital was an hour away by ambulance. I developed excellent skills in order to be able to provide the best care possible to my patients, and had to be able to quickly determine the severity of the injury or illness so that I could request additional resources as soon as possible. This was a necessity since the closest neighboring city with an ambulance service that could assist was at least 30 minutes out. Being so far away from any hospital meant I had to be able to competently provide life saving care within my scope of practice for patients with even the most severe injuries.
