About Luca
I am a fiction writer and writing mentor based in Scotland. I am an award-winning author and have published novels and short stories in both Italian and English. I have been mentoring and tutoring emerging writers of all ages for over three years, as part of the Product Magazine free mentoring programme and through Creative Edinburgh. In addition, I volunteered as a creative writing tutor at Grassmarket Community Project in Edinburgh, where I worked with vulnerable adults, leading reading sessions and workshops. Often, during the workshops, we would explore the cathartic power of writing in relation to past trauma, illness, abuse and hardships. I also strongly believe in creative writing as a tool for improving mental health, self-awareness, and confidence. I would love to share the expertise and skills I’ve acquired over the years. I have an engaging and insightful approach to tutoring, where I not only impart traditional writing concepts but also empower writers to find their unique voice and stay true to their vision. I encourage them to break the rules, think outside the box, and strive for originality—qualities I believe set writers apart. Having obtained a CELTA certificate, I have acquired various techniques and strategies that enhance lesson dynamics and make learning enjoyable. I believe these tools can be effectively utilised during creative writing sessions as well.
