About Alexis
I consistently work to ensure that students of all ages thrive! As a college admissions essay coach, for example, I helped my clients earn acceptances to prestigious universities. High school, middle school, and university students have told me that my enthusiastic, thorough teaching style has endowed them with a newfound love for English. As a result, their grades dramatically improved. Now, most of them read more, write during their free time, and put extra effort into spelling, grammar, and analysis in class.
To me, teaching is about more than providing students with information and requirements that they robotically memorize for the sake of a grade, only to forget all of it the following year. When students care about the subject itself, the results are spectacular. Trust me.

After teaching courses to undergraduate students as well as young children, I have become familiar with the difficulties, academic and otherwise, plaguing Generation Z. My experience and extensive education are assets, but my approachable, compassionate, and oftentimes humorous demeanor also benefits students; they quickly feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas, resulting in productive sessions.
During a typical lesson, a student and I work together; I push students to their full potential, providing enough instruction to be helpful without being overbearing. My expertise lies in English Language Arts; literature; informative, analytical, narrative, and creative writing; test prep, and more. I would be happy to work with any age group!
