About Laura
I promote enjoyment, understanding, and patience with my students and peers. Learning cannot prosper in boredom or stagnant environments, and rather flourishes in fun and conversational situations with questions and engagement. Encouraging students to talk about interests to find texts that suit their personal and academic needs is something I implement and writing about areas that fascinate them.

I prioritize breaking down reading to enhance comprehension and emphasize understanding to ensure enjoyment and successful learning of texts. Additionally, I press comprehension questions to relate to testing strategies to further ease when test taking. As a behavioral instructor, I combine traditional general education norms with ESE strategies to promote encouragement and understanding during times of confusion or frustration. In additional to comprehending informational texts, I promote learning through essay writing to aide in the development of writing to further understanding of central messages in texts.
