Hi! My name is Kirsten, and I’m a tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a passion for supporting learners of all backgrounds and abilities. My educational journey has been anything but one-dimensional, in that alongside English, I’ve studied psychology, history, and Indigenous studies, which has moulded my approach to learning as something deeply personal, relational, and empowering. I bring a compassionate, patient, and flexible style to tutoring, shaped by experience working with students who face learning and emotional challenges. I understand that each student’s path is different, and I strive to meet them where they’re at, whether that means building confidence, breaking down complex ideas, or just creating a space where they feel heard and supported. Beyond academics, I’ve mentored youth in community programs and worked with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. These experiences have taught me that learning is most powerful when it’s rooted in trust, curiosity, and connection. I’m here to help students develop not only their academic skills but also a stronger sense of self and voice. Whether you’re looking for help with reading, writing, or just navigating school with a bit more ease, I’d be glad to walk alongside you on that journey.
