About Eva
Watching a student finally grasp the logic behind a complex script is what keeps me in this chair every day. It reminds me of the nights I spent debugging startup servers in Silicon Valley when the silence of the office was finally broken by a successful test run. My path led from those intense coding sessions into 13 years of classroom instruction for kids and hobbyists. I draw on my MS Computer Science degree from Washington to simplify topics like API structures and version control.
These technical foundations are essential, yet I often find that teaching Git or database normalization is just as much about building confidence as it is about syntax. Progress happens when we move at the speed of your understanding rather than forcing a preset curriculum. Because I spent 11 years as a professional software engineer, I provide feedback that mimics real world code reviews while keeping the tone supportive for beginners.
We will perform a diagnostic coding assessment before we start so I can map out exactly where your strengths lie. Using this data, I integrate HTML, CSS, and object oriented programming into projects that feel relevant to your goals.
