About Coco
I’m Coco Tomita, a Japanese violinist based in the vibrant musical hubs of London and Berlin. Music has been my life since I picked up the violin at age four. I have had the pleasure of performing solo on stages worldwide—from Suntory Hall in Tokyo to Dubai Opera and with orchestras like the Nagoya Philharmonic and the London Mozart Players.
Beyond performing, I’m deeply committed to teaching. I believe every student has a unique musical voice, and my goal is to help you discover and express yours and give you the right tips for your needs.
Having trained at The Yehudi Menuhin School under inspiring mentors like Natasha Boyarsky and Lutsia Ibragimova, and now studying with Professor Kolja Blacher in Berlin, I’ve learned the value of personalised guidance. My lessons are all about you—your goals, your challenges, your love for music. Whether it’s mastering a tricky technique or finding the soul in a piece, I’m here to guide you with patience and enthusiasm.

Coco is one of those rare teachers who really listens and cares. She explains things clearly, never makes you feel silly for asking questions, and knows exactly how to help you get better without losing the joy of playing. I always leave our lessons feeling motivated and inspired. I’d recommend her to anyone.
I wholeheartedly recommend Coco as a violin teacher. She has a remarkable talent for breaking down complex techniques into manageable steps, nurturing both skill and confidence and their passion for music truly motivates students to excel
Coco has helped me so much with her beautiful musical ideas and her amazing technique. She’s incredibly patient, inspiring and always makes me feel confident and motivated to improve. I trust her completely as a tutor and I know any student would be lucky to learn from her.
