About Madelyn
I am a very friendly and compassionate person, and I always prioritize a connection with students and an understanding of the way people learn as individuals so that I can make lessons more personal. I have been studying music theory since childhood, and have been playing piano and cello, and training in singing, for many years. I am very passionate about all things music, and I am very dedicated and organized when it comes to tutoring, as well as very adaptable when it comes to different types of students and schedules.

Music Theory Lessons: I can assist with studying materials you already have or want to learn, such as the AP Music Theory exam, or I will plan personalized lessons to help you advance from whatever level of knowledge you're starting at. I teach both classical and contemporary/jazz theory, and can also instruct/tutor you on arranging, orchestration, music history, ear training, and songwriting.
Piano and Cello Lessons: I specialize in classical training; I will teach through method books as well as supplementary materials at a personalized, comfortable pace for you, and will implement lessons in music theory and music reading alongside learning to play either of these instruments. The hour will be split between 15 minutes of theory/reading, 15 minutes of warmups, and 30 minutes of core instruction and playing time.
Vocal Lessons: The hour will be split between 30 minutes of warmups and 30 minutes of instructional and performance time. I will instruct voice lessons mainly through feedback of your performances and will cater to whichever style of music you like to sing the most!
*All initial 1-hour lessons will be free of charge and a good amount of that time will be spent getting to know you as a student and/or musician so that I can personalize each lesson specifically for YOU!*
