My teaching methodology is to make learning as fun as possible in just the way you need it so that you absorb information just as you would remember a any other great experience in your life - through fun and laughter!
I am a gifted poet and writer who has devoured hundreds of books, had individual and group teaching experience with great success, and had a great rapport with my students, as you will too... and I am also ridiculously hilarious!
I am a highly intelligent, perceptive, sensitive, creative, original, dynamic, compassionate and sincere person. My erudition and sensitivity, coupled with vast personal experience, self-knowledge and insight gained, have made me a healing and conducive force in the lives of others. People find themselves drawn to me for the understanding, empathy and insight they gain from me, as well as the kindness and acceptance I show them. I am fortunate to be able to say that I have a positive affect on the little bit of world around me. I value my integrity and growth as a decent human being above all things.
Education and Employment
After gaining 10 GCSE’s from Park High School in Stanmore (1997-2001) in English (A), English Literature (A), Music (A), Mathematics (B), Biology (B), Chemistry (B), Physics (B), History (C), French (C) and Textiles (C), I received my A Levels in Art and Psychology from Stanmore College in Stanmore (2001-2003), and then my Degree in Philosophy with The Open University (2003-2006).
As soon as I was old enough to receive my National Insurance Number, I began gaining employment through a recruitment agency, DeMel Personnel, temping in various roles, gaining a wide range of experience before settling in Photography five years later. These roles included working as a Junior Office Clerk in numerous companies during college; then during my studies with The Open University as an Administrative Assistant at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington; Studio Assistant and Bartender at Sphere Recording Studios in Battersea; Shop Assistant at Virgin Megastore in Watford; Market Research Interviewer at Ipsos-Mori in Harrow; Guilder at Honeypot Lane Frame Makers in Little Stanmore; Music Reviewer and Warehouse Assistant at Southern Records in Hornsey; Shop Assistant at TRAID in Holloway Road; Assistant, Bartender and Waiter at Riley’s Snooker and Pool Hall in Wealdstone; Student Advisor at The London School of English in Chiswick; Assistant at Jackman’s Catering in Kenton; Studio Manager and Head of Photography at Olan Mills Portrait Studio in Harrow. From this role I began my career as a Freelance Photographer. During this time I have supplemented my earnings on occasion; as a Shop Assistant at HMV in Harrow; Bartender and Waiter at Blues Cafe and Restaurant on Harrow on the Hill; a Soundtrack Artist and Media Sales Respresentative at Feering Productions in Harrow, and most recently as a Teaching Assistant at Avanti House Primary School in Stanmore.
I began learning the guitar when I was eleven years old. By twelve, I was playing in bands, writing, recording and performing in public venues. I advanced from the rhythm guitar to the lead guitar, and then to songwriter, lyricist and singer, eventually becoming a solo artist for many years. I also learned to play the drums and bass guitar as a session musician for many years.
At the age of twenty one I was employed in a portrait photography studio. There I received my training in portrait photography, and within my first month as head photographer and studio manager, I became the highest selling photographer in the company. I then went on to freelance work throughout the commercial sector, including feature film production and photojournalism, though mainly in the portrait photography industry. This is my current occupation.
Writing and Literature
These are my main interests. As my freelance work allowed me a lot of free time, I began to buy and read books voraciously. I have since read hundreds of books, on topics ranging from English, American and European Literature, to Psychology, Philosophy, History, Art, Theology and various miscellanea, and have reached an extremely high degree of erudition and proficiency in many of these fields.
Reading has also led me to become an extremely good writer, and I have for many years written prolifically in poetry, prose fiction (novellas, short stories, children's/fairy tales), playwriting, essays, reviews, articles, journalism, comedy, travel writing and journals, some of which has seen publication.
Also in my twenties I began to paint and draw. I have painted mostly in the abstract expressionist mode, but have also made figurative paintings. My drawings are highly idiosyncratic and imaginative, but I am also very skilful at portraits, and have a very special eye for faces.
Film and Theatre
I love film and theatre, and in my mid twenties I worked in small theatres as an actor, but also contributed to writing and directing plays and designing and dressing sets, and have been critically praised for my work in this field.
Meditation and Yoga
Since the age of twenty six, I have practised daily meditation and yoga, and have benefited greatly in body and mind from both activities.
