About Jean
I am a pensioned engineer. I have a Master in Science and I am also a 6 Sigma black belt (Total quality, change management, etc.) I work in a bicycle shop as a mechanic part-time. I have a good teaching experience at various levels. I am quite curious. Learning is not always easy. Sometimes it just takes a spark to ignite the right learning process. I am still having sparks that I wish I had many, many years ago while myself a student. I am also a student myself since I learn every time I work on a bicycle at the shop. It is quite a complex world without any real standard. Learning the hard way by spending a lot of time on a problem is quite useful since it will be forever imprinted in your brain and will help you with a new approach.

Math, physics, French, geology are subjects I am quite familiar with, at least at the high school level! I do believe that there are different ways to learn. So many times we need to try different pathways to reach our destination. There is no magic. You need to invest some time and energy. A good teacher can help you understand the basics by using day-to-day examples. It is quite important to split apart what you understand and what you are struggling with. We need to start at the right position. See that as a 3m high ladder as an analogy. You are quite strong, confident, and willing to climb the first 3 steps. So we start from there.
