About Kay
My name is Kay, I am 19 years old and I have a love for science, maths and learning in general. I hope to use the skills and knowledge I have honed over the years to provide education for others, especially those who struggle to learn in conventional classroom settings such as myself. Helping students find new confidence in their abilities is such a rewarding aspect of tutoring and I strive to not only educate during lessons but teach skills that can be used for the rest of one's life. I first realised I enjoyed teaching when helping my little brothers with their homework, and seeing the progress they made, going from feeling completely defeated to confident and excited to learn more. Because of this, and my other private and volunteer tutoring, I am able to communicate effectively and get along very well with younger students. I hope I am able to propel your academic journey :)

Tutoring is a versatile process. Different students learn in different ways and a tutor has to be able to adapt to different students' needs. Throughout my time as a student, I have experimented with many different studying/learning techniques such as active recall, spaced repetition learning, and the loci technique. I feel strongly about sharing what I have found to work best, and want to help students find out what works best for them too. By teaching my four younger brothers at different ages have learned how to make a lesson engaging and create excitement for education. I am a science student at Imperial College London with A levels: Maths (A*), Biology (A), Chemistry (A), and GCSEs: Maths (9), Biology (9), Chemistry (9), and Physics (8). The length of lessons is flexible and entirely up to the other party, but I have found that an hour works best for concentration. I provide online lessons via Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Discord, and I am happy to teach any student at GCSE level or lower :)
