About Thea
My passion for biology began with curiosity about how life works at the cellular and molecular level. I pursued a B.Sc in Molecular Biology, where I developed a solid foundation in cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, and ecology. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided students from different academic backgrounds, helping them transform confusion into understanding and anxiety into confidence. I prioritise clarity, patience, and personalised guidance in my lessons, ensuring that each learner’s curiosity is nurtured and their strengths are developed.
I emphasise a holistic approach to teaching biology, connecting foundational knowledge to advanced concepts and practical applications. I encourage students to ask questions, explore relationships between topics, and develop structured reasoning skills. My lessons integrate experiments, examples from real-life biology, and active discussion to make concepts tangible and memorable, fostering both understanding and confidence.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring scientific research, biology innovations, and laboratory techniques, which enriches the learning experience for students. Teaching biology is deeply rewarding because I witness learners develop both analytical and conceptual skills. Supporting students to become confident, curious, and independent thinkers is the most fulfilling aspect of my professional journey.

Biology lessons with me are designed to make the study of life engaging, interactive, and conceptually clear. I focus on helping learners understand complex biological systems, from cellular structures to organismal physiology and ecological networks, by connecting abstract concepts to real-world applications. Lessons incorporate visual aids, analogies, and hands-on activities whenever possible to strengthen understanding and retention. Students are encouraged to explore questions actively, make observations, and develop their reasoning skills. I structure each lesson to gradually increase complexity while ensuring foundational knowledge is solidly established, so learners feel confident navigating both theoretical and practical topics.
As learners progress, I integrate molecular biology, evolutionary theory, and genetics, helping students interpret experimental data, understand biological pathways, and link microscopic processes to observable phenomena. Exercises and discussions emphasise critical thinking, clear explanations, and structured reasoning. I provide consistent feedback on problem-solving strategies, analysis techniques, and conceptual clarity, encouraging learners to refine their approach and think independently. The goal is to build competence and self-assurance simultaneously, ensuring students feel equipped to tackle increasingly complex material.
