About Lydia
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science and have a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, and human physiology. Through my studies, I developed a deep understanding of scientific concepts as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
I also remember what it was like preparing for the Junior Cycle exams and understand the challenges students can face when studying science. I had to build my confidence in biology gradually, but with time and practice it eventually led to achieving top marks. This experience helps me relate to students and support them as they build their own confidence and understanding.
I am reliable, patient, and committed to helping students succeed. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, strengthening their understanding, and improving their exam performance.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students clearly understand key concepts rather than memorising information. I break down complex topics in biology and science into simple, manageable explanations and use diagrams, examples, and past exam questions to reinforce learning. I encourage students to ask questions and actively engage during lessons so they build confidence as well as knowledge.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes. We usually begin by reviewing any difficult topics from school, followed by explaining the concept step-by-step and then practising with exam-style questions, particularly for Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle exams.
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science, which provides a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physiology, and laboratory science. This background allows me to explain scientific concepts clearly and accurately.
Lessons are aimed at students studying Junior Cycle Science and Leaving Certificate Biology who want extra support understanding material, preparing for exams, or improving their grades.
