I approach each class with a specific topic, the topic is taught visually with picture references if this is the learning style which suits my pupil. If a more verbal style suits the pupil I will dictate and verbally explain. I am very flexible with my teaching methods.
Each topic is broken down into sub topics if appropriate to ensure proper understanding is gained. I find teachers dont have enough time to fully explore and explain topics of learning and this may lead to pupils not gaining a correct grasp of the topic. I encourage my pupils to tell me if they dont understand something, whether this is a whole topic or a concept. I prefer to focus on areas my pupils struggle with rather than reiterate areas they are confident "for an easier lesson"
Some topics may not make sense until the "full picture" is gained, this is often the case within sciences especially biology within metabolism topics for example, the cycles and concepts are complex and only when you peice each bit of the "metabolism jigsaw" together does it make sense fully
