About Melissa
Since moving to the United States I have taught many students, and I'm very proud to see how far they have come in only a few weeks. My students are able to understand and communicate in Portuguese, and if desired, they also learn about the Brazilian culture and how to communicate with Brazilians.

Having taught a lot of English speaking students I know what the biggest struggles are and I have tactics that will help them understand the language in a simpler way. Using real-life examples is a great way that I have found to make it easier for the student to relate and comprehend the language. I will always talk to my student and understand what works the best for them.

Melissa is an amazing teacher and I cannot recommend her enough!! She took me from knowing no Portuguese to being able to speak basic conversations within the first week. I had never expected I would be able to get this far with my Portuguese language learning.
Lessons are very easy and structured in a way that isn’t boring. I found myself learning things that I could actually apply to real life scenarios. I’ve been to Brazil twice and was able to apply so much of what I learned while I was there.
Duolingo and other language apps are helpful, but if you really want to learn fast, you need a knowledgeable tutor like Melissa!Melissa is the best! When I started taking lessons with her I knew zero English and in only a few months she has helped me learn so much and now. I went to Brazil a few weeks ago and I was able to understand and communicate a lot in Portuguese because of her.
