Whatever the reason that people choose to learn a musical instrument, I am happy to guide and help them, the emphasis always being on encouragement and enjoyment.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Tell me about some of your current students.
In 2005 and again in 2009 two of my piano students gained entry to what is widely considered the top Conservatoire in Europe, the only students in Devon to achieve this. Neither of them knew when they started with me, some ten years previously, that this is where they wished to end up. The quality of the teaching was such that when they made their mind up that this was the career path they wanted to pursue, they were able to gain entry to a most prestigious school of further education. Currently one of my top students has recently passed Grade 8 with merit, aged fifteen, giving him his first 'A' Level. We have now embarked on studying for the Diploma, a post Grade 8 qualification, a formidable task for a seventeen year old.
30 minute lesson - £14
45 minute lesson - £20
60 minute lesson - £26
A small fee towards travel costs would be in addition to the above prices for pupils requiring lessons in their own home.
I have known Brian for 15 years. We first came into contact when I was unequivocally recommended to him as a piano teacher for my then young son. That recommendation proved to be well made.
On top of that, whilst Brian has always been very professional in his dealings he has also combined this with a personal, friendly and caring approach plus a willingness to go 'the extra mile'.
Based on my experience with Brian, I have recommended him to others who have been looking for music teachers.
I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me over these past two years. I came here in year 10 thinking I was good at piano. You soon made me realize what it means to be a decent musician. I now enjoy playing piano much more than I used to and your lessons have always been interesting. Thank you very much for being a brilliant teacher.
I took piano and trumpet lessons with Brian. His extensive knowledge of music was an inspiration, as was his style of teaching. His explanations of music theory were thorough, yet accessible for a beginner like myself, and his versatility meant that he was able to come up with new topics when I hadn't practiced at those busy times we all have.
