About Lourenco
My name is Lourenco, and I am an 18-year-old undergraduate studying History and French at the University of Bristol. Having recently completed my A-levels in Edexcel History, Politics, and Economics, I understand both the challenges students face and the techniques needed to succeed academically.
I achieved Grade 9s in GCSE English and History, as well as full marks in my A-level History coursework. Over the past year, I have tutored students studying AQA and Edexcel GCSE English Language, English Literature, and History, helping students improve significantly in their grades, including supporting one student in progressing from a Grade 2 to a Grade 6 in English Literature, while others have gone on to achieve Grade 9s.
I am passionate about history, literature, and current affairs, and I aim to inspire the same enthusiasm in my students. My lessons encourage students to consider different perspectives, engage in discussion and debate, and develop the analytical skills necessary to excel in exams. I firmly believe that understanding the wider context behind historical events and literary texts not only improves academic performance but also helps students better understand the world around them.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and professional learning environment in which students feel confident asking questions, challenging ideas, and developing their own informed opinions.

Hi, my name is Lourenco, and I am a passionate historian with a strong interest in literature and politics. My lessons encourage students to consider multiple perspectives and understand the wider historical, political, or literary context surrounding the topics and texts we analyse.
I offer one-hour sessions and have been tutoring for just under a year. During this time, I have helped students improve from a Grade 2 to a Grade 6 in English Literature, as well as supporting students in achieving Grade 9s.
I believe that discussion and debate are crucial to learning, as they help students develop a deeper understanding of the material and strengthen their analytical skills. My lessons are highly interactive, encouraging students to think critically, challenge ideas, and confidently express their own interpretations.
I have experience tutoring AQA and Edexcel GCSE English Literature, English Language, and History. At A-level, I studied Edexcel History, focusing on the Soviet Union, Mao's China, and the History of Ireland, alongside Politics and Economics.
