I have worked as a tutor since university - so have over three years of experience. One of my students was a seventeen-year old girl at Durham Sixth Form college in 2016-17. We worked together on her A Level Geography exam for about a year. During this time we were able to improve her grades from an E in her AS Level to a B overall, which was far above her own expectations.
I am a highly experienced tutor for children aged 5-12 years. As well as being a great teacher, I have an excellent track record of helping children (and parents) through the London Independent and selective School entrance process.
A friendly, patient and professional actor based in London with interests from Shakespeare to Spider-man. Learning can be nerve wracking at times but, if approached well and logically, it can be easily tackled and, sometimes, be enjoyable too.
`Why take the risk? I am the only Tutor in the UK that guarantees success!` - Luke Jones, (Barrister, Qualified Teacher and international 'Super Tutor') "Highly Recommended" - Kuwaiti Royal Family - Which subject(s) do you teach? Why am I so expensive? YOUR Education and YOUR results are too important to leave to chance.
I start by establishing a respectful and ambitious learning relationship with a student. I want to know a student's interests, be aware of strengths and weaknesses, identify goals and fears. From there, I would construct a learning strategy that would be tailored to my student's needs; and in the role of a personal tutor/mentor, the student would be assured of my full support and attention.
As a tutor I realise the importance of students understanding the material they are learning.
I can help out students from primary till senior years. Im familiar with the American system & British system (IGCSE,GCSE,A&ASLEVEL) I first give the student a small diagnostic test to see their strengths & weaknesses and from there we start working on them slowly and gradually the student will see progress.
I generally insist on reading carefully, formulating proper issues, analyse them concretely and then synthesise them with various perspectives before writing an answer.
My teaching method is ‘step by step’ gradually building up the layers of knowledge. I believe making lessons & activities fun makes them more memorable, so games and speaking exercises are key. At the end of each session do a quiz to test how well / what has sunc in then work from there.
I can help strengthen skills such as reading, literacy, grammar, handwriting, comprehension, essay writing and maths skills. Younger children are ideal, 7+ or 11+ level, however I can also cater for older or younger children too (about 4-14 age range). I am able to adapt to many different learning styles in order to suit the student.

I am a very hands-on teacher and enjoy teaching younger students. I love watching young people learn and find what they excel in.
My lessons are interactive and I use the latest educational technology. I also strive to make lessons fun and engaging so that students make rapid progress. I’m flexible in my approach and can adapt to meet the needs of a variety of students.
I teach children from Year 2 to Year 6, following an approach to motivate the interests that children may or may not have in a subject. As I believe the only way for a student to learn is by building their interests and passion within a subject.
I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have had an excellent rapport with my pupils. I have helped speed up my pupils' academic progress significantly especially in 7+ and 11+ exams.
I like to teach by giving an explanation of a topic, before proceeding to get the student to take some brief notes from my explanation with some example exam-style questions. Then I usually like to provide a few more harder exam-style questions to ensure the student can fully understand and then apply the topic.
I normally prefer to test the students ability in the first few lessons seeing how challenging I can make the lessons. When I have a good idea of the level I then focus on areas where the student is struggling by doing exercises and past papers in this area. Always coming back to difficult subjects is very important.

As an experienced English tutor I offer support to students looking to improve their prospects in national and independent school English exams, including the 11+, 13+, GCSE and A-Level.
When teaching I think it is important for the person teaching to be passionate about what they are talking about. If they are bored by what they are teaching, they are never going to deliver a good lesson. I find that by teaching a subject that I am passionate about, literature, I can easily engage with students due to my own excitement about the topics being covered.
