About Ruhaan
Hi, I'm Ruhaan! I'm a rising junior at Camas High School, where I just finished my sophomore year with straight A's across all seven of my classes, including AP-level coursework. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam, so I understand both the material and the pressure of the test itself.
Outside the classroom, I'm heavily involved in my school's FRC robotics team, where I handle fabrication and strategic decision-making — roles that require precision, patience, and the ability to break complex problems into manageable steps, skills that carry directly into how I teach math. I also hold a Senior rank in Tabla (a classical Indian percussion instrument), which has taught me discipline and structured practice over years of training.

Hi, I'm Ruhaan, a rising junior at Camas High School. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam and finished the year with straight A's, so I know firsthand what it takes to actually understand the material — not just memorize it.
My teaching method starts with meeting you where you're at: I diagnose exactly which concepts are shaky (limits, derivatives, integrals, related rates, etc.) before building forward from there, rather than reteaching everything from scratch. I lean heavily on visual intuition and real-world analogies before introducing formal notation, since that's how the ideas clicked for me.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what's been confusing in class, moves into guided practice on that specific concept, and ends with a couple of problems you work through mostly on your own while I coach you through the sticking points — so you leave each session having actually done the math, not just watched me do it.
What sets me apart is that I took this exact exam recently, so I remember which topics trip people up and which shortcuts actually help versus which ones just create confusion later. I also bring strategic thinking from robotics competition into how I break down multi-step FRQs.
