About Caroline
I studied History of Art as an undergraduate at Cambridge University and fell in love with the subject. After my masters in History of Art and Visual Culture at Oxford University I worked for an art dealer for a year and more recently, I completed an internship in art law.
My academic and professional background means that I am able to provide a very rich tutoring experience. I have been tutoring for ten years so I also have significant teaching experience to draw on.
The majority of my tutoring experience is in History of Art, from AS and A level through to University level tuition. I have also designed and delivered bespoke tutoring in History of Art for those preparing for entrance for sixth form or university, who are hoping to study History of Art.
As a fluent French speaker I have tutored French to school students and have been able to provide a particularly valuable focus on oral skills, for those needing support in this area.

I aim to find out a student's particular strengths and areas for growth at an early stage. I can then tailor my classes to provide optimum support to a student.
I am enthusiastic about the subjects that I teach and this makes my lessons enjoyable.
When teaching History of Art I encourage first hand observation of objects for example by going to exhibitions or permanent collections.
I also have a realistic focus on exam technique and on the importance of structure in essay writing; this means that I can help students to show their true potential when working towards exams and/or in developing their study skills.
I am also a patient and caring person and this means tutees of all abilities feel supported and encouraged in their work.
