About Lauren

I am currently studying postgraduate Medicine at Newcastle University, and have previously studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.

I really enjoy teaching alongside my studies, as I find it incredibly rewarding. I understand how daunting some subjects can be for some students, and how a little extra work can allow them to reach their true potential!

About the lesson

I like to get a good idea of the level at which my students understand their subject, as well as get to know them and their goals for our sessions; this then allows me to tailor my lessons to each individual student. My teaching style is highly adaptable, and I use a variety of techniques, depending on student preference.

Most importantly, I believe students learn best in an environment they find comfortable, and feel able to get things wrong. I try my best to facilitate this - I believe myself to be friendly, patient and understanding, and truly want the best for my students.

I have experience in tutoring GCSE maths, but also have an in-depth understanding of the sciences, having achieved all A*s at GCSE and biology, chemistry and maths A level, as well as having studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
