About Prem

I am a friendly Antarctic scientist and Cambridge Geography PhD who studies Antarctica wildlife. I have also assisted with the production of wildlife nature documentaries and worked in the offshore marine industry, giving me a breadth of experience linked to my Geography studies. I am passionate about helping students of all ages and levels build their confidence, set high ambitions, and discover their unique learning style.

I am a patient and kind tutor, who takes an interactive approach to developing my student's academic ability and self-confidence. I welcome neurodiverse students with ADHD and dyslexia, and adapt my teaching style to ensure all students succeed no matter their learning style.

Coming from a state school background, I graduated as the best performing final year student in my Geography undergraduate degree, received fully funded PhD offers to both Oxford and Cambridge, and have won numerous awards throughout my Cambridge postgraduate degree. It is my aim to build students up so that they can follow in my footsteps to attend top universities and pursue an award-winning academic career, should they wish.

My interactive teaching style is based on my approach to supervising Cambridge undergraduate students, where we work together to strengthen knowledge, sharpen reasoning skills and assess learning styles. Student progress is assessed through assigned practice questions which are set as homework and discussed at the start of each session.

I am also happy to advise students on the admission process for top tier British universities and provide career guidance in working in Antarctic science, conservation, wildlife film making or geography. This guidance includes advising on personal statements and CVs, mock interviews and discussing the application process and pathways for different university degrees and careers.
