About Jane
My teaching approach combines the practical, communicative methods of CELTA training with my background in professional and creative writing.
Lessons are goal-oriented and highly personalized. At the beginning of our work together, we identify your specific communication goals—whether that’s improving academic writing, preparing college or graduate applications, strengthening professional communication, or developing confidence in presentations and discussions.
Rather than relying on generic exercises, we often work with real materials: your essays, application statements, research papers, presentations, or workplace communication. This allows you to improve your English while also producing work that you can immediately use.
In our sessions, we focus on:
clarity and organization of ideas
tone and style appropriate to academic or professional contexts
vocabulary and grammar that support precise communication
strategies for editing and improving your own writing
My goal is not only to help you complete a specific task, but also to give you tools and strategies you can continue using independently in your academic or professional life.

I’m a CELTA-certified English communication coach and native speaker who works with professionals, graduate students, and international clients who want to communicate clearly and confidently in English-speaking environments.
I have 7+ years of teaching experience, a BA in English from the University of New Orleans, and an MFA in Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I earned my CELTA certification earlier this year.
My background in professional and creative writing allows me to help students refine not just their English fluency, but also their clarity, tone, and structure. Together we focus on making sure your language reflects your expertise in professional, academic, and business contexts.
