About Becky
My previous students describe me as patient, supportive and adaptable, adjusting to the needs of each student and creating a safe and welcoming space in which to learn.
As someone who learnt Spanish later in life, I understand the challenges and the pleasures of studying and learning and the importance of building confidence step by step.
I qualified as a CELTA teacher in July 2010 at International House, London and since then, have taught students from over twenty countries, from two year olds to eighty year olds.
I have prepared students for exams at every Cambridge level and became a Cambridge Speaking Examiner in 2019 for PET & FCE. I love helping students achieve their potential and am as overjoyed as they are to hear they got the marks they wanted.
With a PG Diploma in Creative Writing from the University of York and an MA in Poetry from Manchester Metropolitan, writing is another passion of mine. I really enjoy enabling students to improve their skills, whether that is for essay writing, GCSE poetry or as a hobby.

Together, we can set clear goals that will help you to stay motivated and keep improving, whatever your level. You will get detailed notes to take away and exercises to work on between classes.
When it comes to Cambridge exams, I have prepared 1,000s of students for each level and can train you in the exam format while pointing out tips and tricks so you can build skills. I am a Cambridge Speaking Examiner for PET & FCE and know exactly how to get the best results.
When it comes to Creative Writing, I have run group workshops and given individual classes, both for generating writing and editing it. I can help with GCSE Poetry Preparation for AQA for both Power/ Conflict & Love / Relationships.
