About Steven
My name is Steven, and I’m an ELA teacher with experience working with upper elementary, middle school, and lower high school students. I currently teach English Language Arts and have experience helping students improve reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and overall confidence with ELA assignments.
My teaching style is calm, patient, and focused on clear explanations. Many students simply need someone to slow things down and help them understand how to approach a question or assignment. I work to create a supportive, low-stress environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.
I also have experience working with students from diverse language backgrounds and understand that every learner progresses at a different pace. The goal is always to help students feel more capable, confident, and independent in their reading and writing.

My lessons focus on building confidence and clarity in reading and writing while helping students better understand their school assignments.
My approach is calm and practical. I help students slow down, understand what a question is asking, and break assignments into manageable steps. The goal is not just to complete the assignment but to help students develop strategies they can use independently. My lessons are well suited for students who need support with reading comprehension, writing assignments, grammar, and general ELA coursework.
We'll go at the students' pace. We're not in hurry, we're learning. I encourage my students that it is ok to be wrong, just don't be afraid to try.
