When I was in high school students only had to take 2 years of high school math. So that’s what I did! I was interested in other things…
When I was in college (I have 2 college degrees) I thought of taking some math courses, but I was interested in other things…
When I was 50, teaching since I was 22, I thought—why not teach math? So, I taught myself high school math and took a bunch of college math courses, and ended up teaching both math AND music. Loved both!

The first year they asked me to help students in a special 2nd chance Algebra course. Teachers called it Refried Algebra. students were so confused!
Next thing you know I was in the back of regular Algebra I classes. Seeing what was going on. You guessed it!
It wasn’t the student’s fault they didn’t get it. Do you get it? Give me a chance to lend a hand!
