I am a secondary teacher trained in core skills primary and with 3 years experience as a secondary school foreign language teacher. I am also a trained Oxford Learning coach with over 4 years experience in tutoring students in, Math and English (KS1-4), SSAT prep and SAT prep for English and Study Skills (test taking, note taking, time management and organisation)

My main approach to teaching is to allow the student to lead. In this way, I can ensure that instruction is based on the student’s needs and that pacing is catered to the student’s processing speed. I often employ high order questioning to my lessons and encourage students to reach their own conclusions with minimum guidance. I love to teach strategies and firmly believe if the ”why” is explained, students can apply their strategies to a variety of academic situations. I like to use technology to support learning, but understand that it cannot be the sole tool for teaching. I look forward to teaching in an engaging way, in which the student is relaxed enough to take risks and participate even when a new concept is being introduced.
