About Olivia
Hi, I'm Olivia! I'm a dedicated English and writing tutor with a passion for helping students build confidence in their reading, writing, and analytical skills. I earned a 5 on both the AP English Literature and Composition and AP British Literature exams, and I received an A in Honors Linguistics and Honors Analytical Thinking and Writing at the University of Arizona.
I understand that every student has unique strengths and challenges, so I create a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop the skills and confidence to succeed independently. Whether you need help with essays, literary analysis, grammar, or writing organization, I'm committed to providing clear explanations, constructive feedback, and personalized guidance every step of the way. I am a Junior at the University of Arizona studying Pre-Law.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students develop the skills to become confident, independent writers and critical thinkers rather than simply providing answers. I tailor each lesson to the student's goals, whether that's improving essays, preparing for exams, analyzing literature, or strengthening grammar and writing mechanics.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's questions or reviewing an assignment. We then work through concepts together, practice applying them, and finish with feedback and strategies they can use on future assignments. I encourage active discussion and teach students how to organize ideas, develop strong arguments, and write clearly.
What sets me apart is my strong academic background in literature, linguistics, and analytical writing, along with my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, approachable way. My lessons are ideal for high school AP English students and college students taking literature, composition, humanities, or writing-intensive courses. P.S. I like making edits to papers!
