About Lucy
Hi! My name is Lucy and I am eager to connect with people in my community seeking a tutor or educator who is patient, open-minded, and humorous when approaching learning. I am a college graduate with a background in teaching in various settings (in college I taught at a zoo where I handled 8 foot snakes and African penguins!) with my more recent experience being focused in early education as it relates to my Psychology degree in Infant, Child, and Adolescent Development. I am also most recently a Behavior Therapist working with clients with autism diagnoses, which is incredibly rewarding work and has offered me to go a depth further into how I approach each learner as an individual with their own needs and desires.

I prefer to familiarize myself with my clients' personal learning styles and preferences for memorization or useful devices when managing how to approach organizing testing material in the mind. Every learner is different, so learning about the learner is equally important to me as it is for us to both master the material. If you prefer to study on the floor, great! Let's do that. Want to come up with a candy reward system together to make flashcards fun? I love it! Let's make learning fun and empowering together :)

Lucy is an amazing teacher and tutor. She was my daughter’s Preschool teacher back in the day, and she absolutely loved being in Lucy’s class. Over the years, we have had Lucy provide tutoring lessons here and there for subjects including English, Math, Science and History. She is a wonderful communicator and finds ease in explaining concepts to struggling students in a way that can stick with them. She is well versed in how to approach children with strong personalities or disabilities such as ADHD. She has been well worth her hourly rate since day 1! I truly, deeply appreciate all of the help that she has given us over the last decade. 10/10 stars!
