About Deanna
My name is Deanna. I am currently a full time college student and employed at my college as a supplemental instructor (SI) for college algebra and trigonometry. I was an SI for intermediate algebra as well. At the beginning of my journey to peruse a bachelors degree, I discovered my passion for all things MATH. I quickly realized I wasn’t just good at it, but I was actually really enjoying it. When my math professor requested me to be his supplemental instructor, I was SO excited for the opportunity to share something I was so passionate about with other students. Throughout my experience as an SI, I discovered another passion; teaching. I have even considered changing my career path to become a professor. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than working with students and getting to witness their growth and progress. As an SI, I am required to be structured and organized. I have an agenda with goals and plans for my sessions. I am good with time management to ensure each session is as efficient and effective as possible. I take a lot of pride in my work and really care about the students I work with. My goal is to help you better understand the concepts behind the equations to make working through them easier. I am personable and I understand that not every student learns the same way. My sessions will target your specific needs and I can adjust my teaching style accordingly to meet your requirements as a learner. If you’re someone who hates math, I can certainly help you with the parts you don’t understand, and hopefully, even help you find something to love about it.

Working as an SI at my college has given me experience in assisting students who really struggle with math. My sessions helped them pass exams and get through their courses confidently. I can provide tutoring services for any grade level math up to college level trigonometry. I promise to make our sessions stress free, and even fun at times. I have many tips and tricks to make understanding concepts easier. Depending on the needs of the student our sessions can be structured or more laid back. I am organized and attentive. I’m always throughly prepared for my sessions with students. I make sure to focus on key points to ensure you are successful while working through the material. I am really passionate about math and enjoy sharing that with others. I have two young kids so I have lots of patience. I will take things slowly if you need, but will also be diligent to keep up with the requirements of your studies. Math can be hard, but after our sessions you may grow to love it just like I do!
