About Paris
I'm a down-to-earth and straightforward person who knows how overwhelming math can feel sometimes—and that’s exactly why I love helping students work through it. I’ve always been someone who likes breaking things down, staying organized, and paying attention to the little details, and I bring that mindset into every tutoring session. I'm also very goal-oriented, so I enjoy helping students set clear targets and actually reach them. At the same time, I try to keep things low-pressure and supportive. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I started tutoring because I genuinely love helping people, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student have one of those “a-ha” moments where something finally clicks. Tutoring gives me a chance to be both a guide and a cheerleader, and I’m always excited to help students grow more confident in themselves and their abilities.

As a rising college sophomore majoring in Political Science and minoring in Mathematics, I tutor math for students in grades 6–12 with a down-to-earth, approachable style. My goal is to make math feel less intimidating by helping students not just get the right answers, but actually understand the process behind them. My teaching method is straightforward: I break concepts down step by step, ask guiding questions, and tailor each session to the student’s pace and learning style. I like to start sessions by identifying what’s been challenging or what’s coming up in class before working through problems together and offering support while the student works on their own. I'm not too far removed from understanding how frustrating math can feel, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building real confidence. I work with middle and high schoolers at all levels, from those needing help with the basics to those preparing for tests or tackling advanced topics like algebra, geometry, trigonometry and precalculus.
