About Charles Raphael
I'm from the suburbs of Philly, and I have liked math ever since I was a kid. My father used to make me do math problems with him when we walked together to synagogue as a kid. I used to find this very annoying, but at some point I grew to really enjoy the framework it gave me for understanding the world. This is the framework I hope to impart to my students

My math lessons will be about conceptual understanding and then lots of practice problems. The way to learn math is to do it yourself. I will always assist, but I encourage students as much as possible to see what they know because the attempt is what makes the memory and understanding stick.
