About Varenya
Hi, I'm Varenya! I'm a Commerce and Law student at UNSW, majoring in Finance and passionate about all things business, strategy, and numbers.
Outside of uni, I tutor English to Years 7 through 12, and I genuinely love helping students find their confidence in a subject that so many people find intimidating. I graduated from Sydney Boys High School in 2023 with a 92 in English Advanced, so I know the pressure of high school English from the inside out.
I like to keep things relaxed and real in my sessions. No stiff, textbook-style teaching here. I meet students where they are, figure out what clicks for them, and build from there.
When I'm not tutoring or buried in uni work, you'll find me keeping up with markets, working on writing projects, or catching up with friends. I bring that same curiosity and energy into every lesson.
Whether your child needs a confidence boost or wants to seriously push for band 6, I'd love to help them get there.

My approach to English tutoring begins with the big picture . Before we touch essay structure or technique, I make sure students genuinely understand why they are studying a text and what it means in a broader cultural and literary context . Once that foundation is in place, the path to strong marks becomes far more intuitive and lasting .
I graduated from Sydney Boys High School in 2023 with a 92 in English Advanced, so I know exactly what is expected at both Advanced and Standard level: the marking criteria , the common pitfalls ️, and how to craft responses that stand out . I bring that firsthand experience into every session.
️ All materials are created by me and tailored specifically to each student , with no generic worksheets or recycled notes . Lesson length is flexible ️ and shaped entirely around what the student needs that week, whether that is a deep dive before an assessment or a focused session on a single skill .
My lessons suit Years 7 to 12 students at any level, from building core skills in junior years through to Advanced and Standard in Years 11 and 12 . If you want to move beyond surface-level thinking and develop a genuine, confident voice in your writing , I would love to help .
