About Jaye
Join my traveling school Jaye Allison Dance Academy JADA if your journey includes studies for the future utilizing techniques that withstand the tests of time for your timeless usage. Bring your passion and let's make it happen! Yes! I was one of the FAME kids that movie talked about! Philadelphia High School for the Creative & Performing Arts started my training at Broad & Spruce St. Where I graduated then attended UArts at Broad & Spruce St. spending 8 years on that corner in Center City where Philly International Recording Studios lived above UArts School of Dance. Developed first company simultaneously over that time with a dance partner who came to HS from a stint on Broadway and traveling musical show since childhood. These beginnings gave me an incredible start and look into the field of traditional and commercial acumens for dance. Not so much for competitions but have learned to adapt for this avenue. I traveled as a chorus dancer in my teens & 20's wrote dance musicals and influenced my students and company members lives throughout my career thus far.
Choreography of traditional material in all these genres are in my syllabi and building since 1980.
Yes! I can still dance and demonstrate as much as needed much like Paula Abdul & Debbie Allen still does. Longevity was a part of my plan for learning to dance and is important factor for passing along the torch to others looking for the same.
